Class of 2024 Community Partner Project Proposals

Dear Community Partner Representative,

Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal to work with the Multicultural Leadership Institute's MCLP. To date MCLP has helped more than 50 local organizations and we are pleased to offer this request for proposals (RFP). To see prior projects, click here.

The purpose of the MCLP Non-profit patnership is two fold. First is to provide the MCLP Participants the opportunity to put the leadership skills they are developing into action. Second, and as important, is to assist the non-profit partner in building their capacity to meet their mission and more effectiively serve their community,

Important dates to be noted (please make sure a representative is available to attend/commit to these dates):

July 22, 2023, 12:00 PM, proposals are due electronically. Note: All submissions will be acknowledged by automated email as soon as submitted
July 29, 2023, Project proposal selections are made and non-profits are notified whether or not they will be a Project Partner
August, 2023, MCLP Project Sponsor-Liaison-Advisor Orientation session (date TBA)
September 2023, Project Teams have initial meeting with Project Partners during a MCLP Learning Event
December 14, 2023, 6:00 PM, Midterm Project Presentations
March 21, 2024, 6:00 PM, Final Presentations
April 27, 2024, MCLP Graduation

MCLP will match up to $750 in budget contributions provided by the non-profits used towards completion of the respective project effort. In recent years, MCLP Project expenses have ranged from $0 to $500 per project.

What will happen if this project is not accepted? Will the project be completed by someone else?

Sustainability is important to the proposals selected. Please provide a brief (50 words or less) description of who will be responsible for the implementing the recommendations and how this will be done.

As a Project Liasion I will accept these expectations:

Be the conduit between the organization and the mclp project team.

Provide materials to help the project team understand my organization, which may include links to websites, strategic plan, organizational chart, program materials, etc.

Help the project team develop the goal for the project.

Meet with the project team, or a representative of the team, at least monthly.

Be available by phone or email to answer questions from the project team.

Facilitate time for the project team to present to the board or a select group from the board prior to their mid-term and final presentations.
